About Jung's Taekwondo School: History of Grandmaster Jung
Master Jin Young Jung, a Korean native, introduced Taekwondo to Trinidad and Tobago on December 1st, 1976. He founded the Trinidad and Tobago Taekwondo Association and served as its President for sixteen years. During the years, Master Jung produced forty one (41) Black Belts, some up to the rank of Fifth Dan.
Master Jung, a former sergeant in the Korean Army, began his Martial Arts training in Judo in 1956. Two years later he started in Taekwondo. Then in 1959 he picked up Hapkido and Wrestling, emerging as National Lightweight Champion in the latter discipline in 1964.
He currently holds the Grandmaster ranking in Taekwondo and Hapkido while also being a senior Black Belt in Judo.

Earning a black belt requires years of dedication, sweat, and discipline. When you reach that milestone with us, your achievement is eligible to be registered directly in South Korea. We are proud to provide our students with the path to earning official, internationally recognized Kukkiwon Poom and Dan certificates.
